Yoko Ono Releases Remastered Lennon Albums

On Oct. 5, John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, will launch the "Gimme Some Truth" campaign with eight remastered John Lennon studio albums and several new compilations. The worldwide initiative commemorates what would have been Lennon's 70th birthday on Oct. 9. The reissued albums include 1970's "John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band," 1971's "Imagine," 1972's "Some Time In New York City," 1973's "Mind Games," 1974's "Walls and Bridges, 1975's Rock 'n' Roll, 1980's Double Fantasy and 1984's Milk and Honey." The newly-compiled titles include the 15-track "Power To The People: The Hits," the 4-CD collection "Gimme Some Truth" and the 11-CD deluxe set "John Lennon Signature Box."Yoko Ono said she hopes the releases "help bring his incredible music to a whole new audience." She added, "By remastering 121 tracks spanning his solo career, I hope that those who are already familiar with John's work will find renewed inspiration from his incredible gifts as a songwriter, musician and vocalist and from his power as a commentator on the human condition."
